Biografie
Rollerjammin lessen in Calypso
Mijn naam is Lourens en ik ben old-skool rollerskater. Sinds de begintijd van de introductie van rollerskates op urethaan wielen in Nederland beoefen ik dit als hobby, en heb me daarbij gespecialiseerd in het dansen op skates in rollerdisco en rollerboogy stijl. Een groot aantal jaren heb ik vele mensen de techniek geleerd en heb vele rollerdisco’s in o.a. Amsterdam, Rotterdam en Den Haag mede-georganiseerd. Als promotie van deze feesten ben ik begonnen met fotograferen. Mijn apparatuur heb ik gericht op deze partyfotografie uitgekozen (slecht licht/bewegende onderwerpen). Nu ik wat minder actief in organisatie en skate-workshops ben, richt ik me als Rolograaf meer tot algemene party fotografie. Maar zoals uit mijn portfolio mag blijken zijn er andere takken van fotografie die me ook interesseren en waarvoor technieken uitgediept kunnen worden.

Technisch: Een geslaagde foto, hoe ontstaat dat? Het begin is het nemen van een technisch goede foto. De belichting moet in orde zijn, de juiste keuze van scherptediepte moet genomen zijn, het onderwerp mooi in focus en uiteraard de compositie met gevoel voor licht en kleur zijn vereisten. Maar dat is allemaal pas het begin.
In de tijden van de lichtgevoelige film was er dan de magie van filmkeuze en de donkere kamer. Nu in het digitale tijdperk zijn effecten als witbalans, maar nog veel meer bewerkingen, achteraf met software op het “digitale negatief” te bereiken. Ook een digitale foto is dus nog niet af als hij niet is ontwikkeld.
Terug op aarde: Maar voor u als bezoeker van deze site moet het niet uitmaken hoe de foto tot stand is gekomen, uw beoordeling is geen kwestie van gebruikte techniek maar van gevoel: Een foto spreekt u aan of is gewoon niet interessant genoeg.
Help me met het verbeteren van mijn techniek door uw commentaar bij de foto’s achter te laten. Ik hoop dat u ze “interessant genoeg” vindt, maar leer meer van uw feedback op foto’s waar u door geraakt bent of die u juist helemaal waardeloos vindt.
